General Sheepskin Care & Storage
All Woolprotec sheepskins are carefully selected for your health benefits. Your new sheepskin will arrive vacuum packaged for shipping by air, when you receive your sheepskin the wool may appear flattened. Do not
worry, wool is a superior fibre, is extremely resilient and springy and will bounce back.
Simply run your finger through give a vigorous shake and will be back to original appearance very quickly.
Storage
Sheepskin should be stored in a cool airy place away from direct sunlight. Guard against condensation DO NOT pack your sheepskin away in plastic bags for long periods of time. Sheepskin is a genuine natural wool/leather
product and needs to be cared for the same way we care for leather products.
Washing
Sheepskin can be machine washed on warm wool cycle or hand washed in warm water (40ºC or 104ºF) use only a mild liquid soap detergent (link to woolwash). Spin with fleece facing out to remove excess
water.
Canada & USA Pure Castile, biodegradable pure soaps, Pure Castile or Eucalan Woolwash.
DO NOT use bleach or enzyme or 'cold wash' liquid detergents or washing powders.
Long wool colours should be professionally dry cleaned.
Drying
Air Dry your Sheepskin flat or on line and stretch to shape while damp. Dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Direct heat includes, heaters, fan heaters, radiators or steam heat, this will cause damage and burn your
sheepskin. DO NOT tumble dry sheepskin. DO NOT iron sheepskin.

Brush for Self Cleaning Care
Sheepskin is a natural because of lanolin in wool, regularly brush and airing will keep the sheepskin fresh and help maintain its self cleaning properties.
After washing sheepskin, the wool usually reverts back to its natural curly state. Restore sheepskin appearance with a brisk brushing when wet and again when dry with a wire brush or comb, eg use a pet brush or horse
comb.
Guidelines for Baby Sleep Zone
The following guideline has been provided as a guide to assist you and your baby to gain the full enjoyment and health benefits from your new baby sheep skin.
SIDS research has resulted in many changes to baby care and parenting practices. When sheep skin is used as part of baby's bedding it is recommended it should be short pile. It is NOT SAFE for baby to have a long
wool sheepskin. Our baby care range are all clipped and sanitised for baby safety so that there is no risk to baby safety from long wool fibres.

Soiled skins should be rinsed in cold water.
Machine washing. HITEMP skin to 80°C.
For effective washing and disinfection use suitable nonionic liquid detergent containing a bacteriostat, which has no enzymes, phosphates, peroxide, alkali or bleach. We recommend Sheepskin Express
Australia Woolwash.
Drying: Tumble dry on warm setting - Do not exceed 60°C.
EMAIL FOR FULL COMMERCIAL LAUNDERING INSTRUCTIONS, MSDS etc HITEMP Sheepskin should be laundered in accordance with the wash formulae specified which achieves
high level thermal disinfection.
Sheepskin Bedding Underlay
Although, our sheepskin underlays are machine washable sheepskin they are big and get heavy when wet and are not recommend for home washing machines.Professional Dryclean Recommended.
Self Cleaning Care

Sheepskin Teddy Bears are able to withstand very gentle all over sponge bath but please, bear in mind, this is a genuine leather product and should not be immersed or soaked in water.

Sheepskin Slipper and Ugg Boot Care

Sheepskin slippers and ugg boots are made from real sheepskin, airing and regularly brush and airing are especially recommended to keep the sheepskin fresh and help maintain its self cleaning properties.
We highly recommend Sheepskin Protector to protect from heavy soiling, it is both a water and oil repellent, apply before use and after cleaning.
If your sheepskin uggs or slippers require more serious clean then hand wash only with Sheepskin Woolwash remove excess water, allow to air dry away from direct heat. (general instrut) Before re using your
sheepskin slippers or ugg boots, soft suede brush and again highly recommend Sheepskin Protector to protect from further heavy soiling.
You will have years of pleasure from your sheepskin slippers or ugg boots if you follow the gentle care instructions above.
